After arriving at Riga international airport (RIX) with airBaltic this December I made my way down into the old town of Riga to check-in at the Pullman Riga Old Town. I booked the hotel with my LeClub points as a short pre-xmas vacation, since I have never been to Eastern Europe I thought it could be nice to check it out.
Prior to arrival I requested the hotel via email to quote airport pickup for me, I never received a reply from them which turned out to be the start into a stay with one of the most terrible experience I ever had at any hotel, let alone a 5* accor property.

After my recent flight with airBaltic to Riga I still had a second trip with the airline back to Berlin as part of my multi city booking through AirBerlin.
The flight to Berlin Tegel (TXL) from Riga international took roughly 90 minutes and airBaltic is flying one of its older aircraft, a Bombardier Q400 on this route.

After my rather disappointing stay at the ibis Munich airport (MUC) I took a early morning flight with airBaltics newest plane, a Bombardier CS300, which according to the captain had its second day of service on this flight BT222 to Riga international airport (RIX).
The flight was roughly 70 minutes delayed on arrival due to very dense fog at MUC, ground crew gave unfortunately little information about that so I just had to wait at the gate until the plane made its way down through the clouds.
